since my boyfriend is visiting, i haven’t been on here much. yesterday was the state fair and today was a double feature of Batman and Spider-Man at the really cheap theater where tickets are only like $5. :O

so uh…can someone fill me in on what seemed to be Portal fandom controversy on my dash? is this all just because someone anonymously complained about the overwhelming amount of Chelley in the Portal fandom? or Blue Sky specifically maybe? because like…it’s totally overwhelming. i’ve gotten this idea in my head that most fans seem to like Chelley fics (or fics in general) more than actual Portal. usually my opinions about fanfiction are neutral. i’m not a fan of them personally and don’t really read them or try to read them for any fandom i’ve been apart of (except this one time with TT but i was a middle schooler and it got too “adult” for me so i opted out of reading that one lol), but if you do that’s okay. however, when it seems to be taking over every other part of the fandom it can be somewhat irritating.

i know i’d be fighting a losing battle here, though. lord knows there’s a million other things that annoy about the Portal fandom (miku!Glados, anyone??). if i were to list them all, i’m just sure tumblr would explode. alas, they don’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon, and based on the fandom’s reaction to one little image i guess i’ll just go back to sitting here quietly and rolling my eyes at the annoyances and trying to uplift the fanworks that i find genuinely creative and worthwhile.
