Chris Sanders (Co-Director of Lilo & Stitch, How To Train Your Dragon, The Croods) shares some unused storyboards from his latest film The Croods.
I think I’d rather just watch 90 mins of Sanders drawing storyboards than watch the finished movie; these are beautiful!

My friend and I were just talking about how you know the producers and/or studios were the main drive of an animated film when the storyboards are better than the actual finished product. The artists and creators know what they’re doing, but the people with money don’t let them do it.
augh the form and movement he manages to get is so amazing. i know he tends to draw all his women with the same look, but i maybe would rather have the main character be more like this than what seems to have made it to the movie… though you can still see some chris sander-y remnants in the final character design.
