oh yeah remember how i got that new Rarity wig recently? about a week ago, i tried it on and was vaguely experimenting with styling it and taking photos. also, i got new earrings as a nod to Rarity’s cutie mark. in photos, the color of them looks really pretty aqua blue, but in real life they’re maybe too close to green. :/ kind of depends on the lighting i guess. still loving the color of the wig, though! just gotta find me some more styling supplies before i can do much more with it. thoughts on wig styling or the earrings, anyone?

well, i’m planning on doing a decent finish on my beatnik rarity (adding in cutie mark jewlery and dying my beret), but i also would like to just come up with another rarity look in the future. if nothing else, i could easily to a “casual Rarity” look with just some stuff i own. XD

i haven’t cut the lace off yet, but it looks really good on my head! here’s a quick pro/con list…
PRO:
~color is gorgeous and as close as i think i can get to the main color on Rarity’s mane (not counting the lines or inner gradient).
~even just putting a part in the wig makes it look kind of Rarity-esque! hopefully that means that it won’t take much to get it the rest of the way there.
~the flow is just wonderful, looks really sleek and pretty! (obviously!)
~there’s actually a comb at the top of this wig to help hold it in place. handy!
CON:
~the texture is kind of weird to me, not nearly as soft as it looks, but it does seem to hold it’s shape pretty well…maybe because of that? it could become a problem with my low-level styling ability.
~the wig is a million times too big for my rather small head. i have the pully loop things adjusted to the smallest setting they can be on without crossing one another in order to fit my head size.
~this wig was the priciest i’ve ever gotten. XP

the arda wig i ordered on monday got here today (so fast!!). its for my Rarity cosplay. on the left is my old wig, on the right is the new arda one in “grape.” it’s sooo pretttty! cx
happy halloween, tumblr! here’s my last minute halloween costume…i seem to have left bits and pieces of all my other cosplays at home, so this was my only “full” costume on hand. i was invited to a costume party with my new roomie. however due to a lack of bronies in this area, probably no one there will be able to figure out who i am. but i bet you guys can. you guys are great like that.
i made this illustration more than a year ago, and it made the rounds on tumblr i believe before i had even thought about joining, but after a few requests i’m FINALLY selling prints of it!! :D
to make myself feel better, i got out my Rarity wig, washed it, brushed it out, and attempted to style the bangs similarly to her beatnik look without actually cutting them off. not sure if this would actually hold too well or if it looks beatnik-y enough, but i kind of love this look. i need to dye the beret a more pinkish color, but i pretty much own the rest of the outfit. i was just too lazy to put it on before starting all this. XD
